It takes a special person to do what the people of Hillsborough County Animal Services do every day.
“You kind of have to take it one day at a time and try not to get overwhelmed with negativity. There’s so much success working with animals,” said Marti Ryan, with Hillsborough County Animal Services.
The reality is, not every animal can be saved, but that hasn’t stopped any of the employees and volunteers from trying to save each and every animal that comes through their doors.
“We have not reached our goal of zero euthanasia. This is where the animals come that nobody else wants. We’re saving animals that nobody else says they can save,” said Ryan.
