Update on the new sign for the Front of HCAS!
UPDATE!
Raising $10,000 to $14,000 for the LED sign turned out to be a lot tougher than I expected. So Amber and I decided to instead use $1,000 of the money we raised to purchase a portable lighted sign (for now).
If you have visited HCAS over the past few weeks, you probably noticed the taped-off hole out front… Well, that’s because permitting has been completed, and we are very close to having the new sign up!
We are confident even this “less fancy” sign will result in more adoptions.
Though we still hope to eventually have a large scrolling LED, we are excited to have the portable in the meantime.
Thanks to everyone who has placed a magazine subscription order, and/or dropped off ink jet cartridges at the adoption desk, and/or made a donation at one of our vegan bake sales! Your support is very much appreciated!
Life can be exhausting at times….
The big headed pup seen above was an HCAS resident a few days ago. He was only one of our stray’s whom no one came forward to claim. “Big Dog Rescue” pulled him and lovingly named him “Meathead”. He is one of the sweetest pups you could ever want to meet. Connie Johnson of “BDR” took ”Meathead” to an adoption event this past weekend and apparently between being ‘sprung’ from ‘the pen’..along with a ‘field trip’…well…..”Meathead” was just overcome with the joy of his new life. He literally fell asleep on his feet.
Pure Bliss…..a life saved..
Roadtrip for Ace!
UF Small Animal Hospital, College of Veterinary Medicine
Cathy and I took a ‘Roadtrip” to Gainesville to the UF Small Animal Hospital, to get a diagnosis on “Ace”, one of our HCAS cruelty case residents. WHAT A PLACE! WHAT A STAFF! And, WHAT A GALLANT EFFORT on Ace’s part of being a ‘patient’.
