Weekend's new mom shares, "(Weekend) really has become a part of the family and her personality is finally starting to come out."
Weekend's Family shares:
We went to the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center on St. Patrick's Day, not with the intention of adopting, but just to visit the dogs as my daughter has done some volunteer work there. However, her allergies are so bad she is unable to continue but she still likes to go and visit them. We saw Weekend (her name there was Willow) and she just looked so sad and scared. We took her out for a visit and even though she was very skittish she just sat near us, soaked up the attention, and had this look on her face that screamed "Get me out of here." I think it was at that moment that my daughter and I both looked at each other and said "Let's take her home" and about an hour later we were in Petsmart buying her toys, food, and a leash.
She really has become a part of the family and her personality is finally starting to come out. She had kennel cough when we first got her, so her first few weeks at home were rough. She was always very tired, sneezing, and on antibiotics. We got her cleared of that when the GI symptoms started. We went to the vet on Sunday to find out she has round worms, hookworms, and heartworms. On top of that we think she was abused as she has a fear of men. We are slowly working on with her. The poor pup has had it rough!
Thank you Friends of HCAS for assisting with her Heart Worm treatment.
Please donate to FoHCAS so they continue helping shelter dogs and puppies like Weekend.
